Didn’t know the LG Optimus 2X Mirroring Effect would be to this great extent~ (Optimus 2X multi-media capability)

In addition to the speed of the Optimus 2X, it has a very special capability. That is to say, HDMI mirroring! HDMI mirroring means that by connecting the Optimus 2X to a TV through the HDMI cable, the Optimus 2X screen is literally mirrored onto the TV screen. A very unique function, right? Please see below to find out how cool this function is.

[Connecting the Optimus 2X with the TV screen]

In order to connect the Optimus 2X with the TV screen, the TV must have an HDMI terminal.
Most TVs that have been released in recent years have an HDMI terminal so I believe connection will be available for most TVs.

Also, you need to prepare the basic HDMI cable.

The provided HDMI cable is not an ordinary HDMI cable but a smartphone specific cable. So one side has a mini HDMI socket.

 

The mini HDMI socket is at the top of the Optimus 2X so you need to connect the cable into this socket.

This is how it looks when connected. Simple~

When you connect it to the TV HDMI socket, a message notifying you that an external device has been connected will pop up. You need to press “OK”.

You can see the Optimus 2X screen mirrored on the TV screen. Amazing~ ^^

The TV screen will transport every image on the Optimus 2X screen. As its name indicates, it’s an exact mirroring effect. ^^


[The things you can do with Optimus 2X mirroring capability!]

1.       Gaming with Optimus 2X mirroring!

Even if smartphone screens have become bigger, it does not compare to XBOX or Playstation games~ However, with the Optimus 2X, you can enjoy games on a large screen.

Just imagine playing this game on a large screen! The buzz you feel when you hit a homerun is ecstatic. ^^ 

Watching the TV screen, the Optimus 2X becomes a controller.

You can also enjoy the much loved XBOX and play station racing game. I chose the GT Racing game!

In particular, the level of satisfaction is different when experiencing a more realistic gaming through the large screen.

The Optimus 2X is perfectly suited to enjoying racing games with its 9 sensors. ^^

You can even play Korean poker on the large screen.

2.       Watching videos through Optimus 2X mirroring!

There isn’t anything better to showcase the large screen option~ ^^ While it does not support all ports, most videos are capable of mirroring unless it’s high resolution. So as long as you have an Optimus 2X, you can comfortably enjoy videos on a large TV screen.

FYI, in a video mode, the Optimus 2X screen shuts off – a clever approach to let you enjoy the video for longer.

3. Listening to music with the Optimus 2X!

While there is no particular need to mirror music onto a TV screen, if you manage your music and store them in the Optimus 2X, it can be easily connected to the TV to be used as a radio type.

4. Searching the internet with the Optimus 2X!

The ability to enjoy the internet through a large screen is one of the great qualities for this technology. ^^

While you can watch a video on a smartphone when you’re not with their family, to share your experiences, you can connect it to the TV and use it. FYI it’s better when everyone’s shopping. ^^

I’m looking at my favourite websites. There’s no need for a smarter TV~ ^^

In my case, I don’t need to connect like this as I have a smart TV but for those of you who don’t own a smart TV, you can get a taste of the smart TV through your Optimus 2X.

And rather than a mobile tailored page, the web browser pages are much nicer aesthetically. ^^

So if you only use the internet on your home computer, can you throw that away?? Lol


5.       Video chat with Optimus 2X mirroring!

If your phone allows video chat, you can video chat on a large screen with your family like your parents who live in the province. In particular, HD video chat has recently been released so if your phone supports this, you can video chat on a much cleaner screen.

This wasn’t HD video chat so there is a tiny distortion in clarity but it bears no inconvenience in a satisfactory live chat via the screen.


6.       Optimus 2X mirroring capabilities let you do anything you want!

As I mentioned previously, every visible capabilities of the Optimus 2X can be seen through the TV screen. That is, as you can see any application through the large screen, the possibilities are limitless.

You can even watch DMB so you can basically assume that anything that’s capable on the Optimus 2X can also be done via HDMI mirroring.

This has been a test on the HDMI mirroring capability of the Optimus 2X. How did you like it?

It really is an amazing technology! I believe it will be a very useful smartphone for those without a smart TV and will provide ample pleasure for those who like gaming.

 

If I have a small wish, I think a chargeable docking station is an essential item to maximize the HDMI mirroring usage. I cannot help but worry about running out of battery while I’m watching a video clip.

If this minor improvement can be made, I think the Optimus 2X phone will be a most satisfactory smartphone. ^^
